Classified as an ecologic natural zone of, faunistic and floristic interest (ZNIEFF) for its flora (swamp, Scirpe, Carex), the lac of Montagnès owes its sourcing to the feeding of numerous wet zones (wet prairies, bogs) located upstream.

These sunbathing swampy mixed with other micro environment, micro areas such as the grass areas, rose area, typhaias, cariçals, megasporizine’s and wet wooden areas. these areas correspond specifically to different ecosystems and offers numerous refuges for many categories such as infeoded species as well as amphibian.
